Queen Margaret University’s Study Abroad and Exchange programmes are a unique opportunity for you to experience life in Scotland whilst earning credit towards your home degree.

Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Situated in the central belt of Scotland, the city is easily accessible from all areas of the UK and beyond.

There’s always something going on in Edinburgh, making it an exciting place in which to study and live. Each year, thousands of people descend on Edinburgh to live, work, study, or visit on holiday. Edinburgh is abundant with things to see and do, and has often appeared in the top ten places to visit in the world. It has been listed as being a top place to live in the UK by public opinion surveys.

QMU is situated to the east of Edinburgh’s city centre and offers students a friendly community atmosphere. Although our history goes back to 1875, we are based at a purpose-built, modern campus, which opened in late 2007. Our academic teaching, student accommodation, Students’ Union, and sports centre are all within a short walk of each other. The campus has excellent public transport links to the city centre, allowing students to enjoy the best of both worlds with campus university life, and the capital city is easily accessible.

QMU has a growing and vibrant international community, which is sure to enrich your student experience. We are keen to ensure that you are given a warm, friendly Scottish welcome. We pride ourselves on our supportive learning environment, and the size of the University allows us to offer an approachable, responsive and individual student experience.
