Program Description:
Auckland

The University of Auckland is New Zealand's largest university with over 40,000 students; 11 campuses/locations8 faculties; and 2 large-scale research institutes.

Enrollments
  • Study Abroad students can directly enroll in almost all undergraduate courses offered by U of Auckland's Business School, Faculty of Arts, and Faculty of Science without requesting Auckland faculty approval. This means a much faster turnaround time for students to enroll in their courses of choice. Some exceptions apply.
  • However, students may have to apply for a concession to enroll in courses that require Auckland faculty approval.
  • The course catalog for the upcoming academic year (late February to mid-November) will be available in early November online with the course outlines. For more detailed course descriptions, please refer to relevant faculty websites.
Accommodation
  • The University of Auckland is now able to guarantee University housing to all study abroad students providing they apply for a room by 15 December for Semester One (End of Feb – End of Jun) and 1 May for semester two (Mid of Jul – Mid of Nov) and pay the NZ$750 deposit. If a student is not accepted into the University of Auckland, their deposit will be refunded. More information on how to apply for accommodation can be found here.
  • The previous requirement that requires study abroad students to obtain a visa before securing a room has been waived.
  • Our housing provides an integrated accommodation experience ensuring international students are carefully mixed with local Kiwi students. We also endeavor not to have two students from the same country sharing a flat.

Please find detailed information on the University of Auckland's program, processes, and course offerings here. You can also refer to their website or look at their at-a-glance facts.
