Ithaca College had an exchange agreement with
Hanyang University. Admission to exchange programs is fairly competitive since a limited number of spaces are available each semester; typically no more than 1 - 2 placements for each institution, every semester. Occasionally an exchange will be closed in a given semester, with or without prior notice.
Hanyang University was established in 1939 and has two campuses: One is located in the Seongdong-gu of Seoul, South Korea, and the other is located in Sangnok-gu of Ansan Kyeonggi-do, South Korea. Hanyang University also operates two area hospitals (located in Seoul and Guri). Hanyang’s hospitals have been recognized as among the best medical centers in Korea and serve more than ten million patients a year.
Hanyang University offers a wide variety of courses in many different disciplines, making it a great choice for any Ithaca College student wanting to spend a semester or two in Korea. While limited coursework is available in English, there are programs for students interested in learning Korean and learning about Korean culture.
Hanyang University also offers a special summer program,
Hanyang International Summer School (HISS). HISS was established in 1997 to encourage more international exchanges between Hanyang and its partner universities. Every year, HISS offers more than 100 courses taught in English to international students from around the globe. In this 4-week program, students can take up to 3 courses. There is a wide range of courses from which to choose, including Korean Studies, Humanities, Business, Economics, International Relations, Media & Communication, Design, Science, Sports, and Korean language. International students can also experience aspects of Korean culture by participating in various field trips, excursions, and cultural programs.
