Program Description:
Jonkoping UniversityIthaca College has an exchange agreement with Jönköping University.  Admission to exchange programs is fairly competitive, as there are a limited number of spaces available each semester (typically no more than 1 - 2 placements per exchange, per semester).  Occasionally an exchange will be closed in a given semester, with or without prior notice.

Jönköping is the tenth largest city in Sweden located in a region characterized by innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.  It is this atmosphere that draws so many international students to the university.  Named one of the top universities in international exchange, Jönköping University has close to 10,000 students, of which 1,500 are international students.

This exchange program is open to all Ithaca College students, however, students must choose all courses either from the School of Education and Communication or from the School of Health and Welfare.

The School of Education and Communication mainly accepts exchange students with two years of prior Media and Communication Studies or Teacher Education Studies. Students who have not declared a major in education or communications, but have the same background of studies can be accepted as long as places are available within the course or courses applied for.

The School of Health and Welfare in Jönköping, Sweden focuses on education and research in health care and social work. It is characterized by high academic standards, clear-cut profile areas and long experience of education and research.  By offering a number of courses in English, the school strives to integrate students from all over the world. This international mix of students and teachers ensures a global and broadened perspective.
